OSAT Here We Go Blog Hop

Welcome to the Corner of Plaid and Paisley where I am participating in the OSAT Blog hop.

The theme this month is Here We Go- Vacation, back to school, new home . . .

I made this card with my husband in mind since we are going on a cruise soon to celebrate our 40th anniversary!   I used a combination of several stamp sets to make this card.    It includes the wonderful sun and waves image from the Circle Sayings stamp set, the pelican from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set, and the Adventure compass image from the He's All That stamp set.

I love mixing and matching pieces from different stamp sets that make sense together to make something a little different.  Since one of the challenges of these hops is that everything we use has to be current, I had to be creative with dies as well.  I used the All That Dies, The Waves Dies and believe it or not - the Crafting with You Dies for the stitched circle.  Now I realize that it can be quite expensive to purchase all of these dies - but what I have found is that I can usually find a die that will work in some other set that I already have.  So I mix and match as much as I can to get even more use out of the sets I do own.

The base is Balmy Blue and the stripe DSP is from the Let's Go Fishing DSP pack.  I took a piece of Pebbled Path and ran it through the Timber 3D embossing folder and then used my Blending Brush and White Craft Stampin' Ink to give the background a kind of wood weathered look.

🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

I used the Taylor Made Tags Dies for my bookmark and used the same technique for the top layer of the bookmark.  A plain ribbon tie didn't seem right for this more masculine design so I took the Balmy Blue and White Double stitched ribbon and deconstructed it.  I tore off the blue ribbon down the middle by snipping the clear thread and then cut the white piece down the middle and frayed it some.  I also added two strands of Grey Granite Baker's Twine to give it a little more volume.

Let's see what the other card makers have created!!

Masculine Birthday Card - A Cut Above

This is a fun masculine birthday card for that man who always has the greenest grass and the nicest yard!  We all know that man!!

I am joining the Stamping  INKspirations Blog Hop this month and the theme is Birthday cards!!

I made this card from the A Cut Above stamp set from the Mini Jan- June 2021 Catalog.
He is stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White Cardstock.  I used the Blending Brushes and Balmy Blue ink to do the sky, the rest of the scene is colored with various Stampin' Blends and cut out with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

The base of the card is Mossy Meadow, there are two of the Stitched Triangles of Pear Pizzaz and the green plaid is from the Hydrangea Hill DSP.

I fussy cut some clouds and the sun, colored them with Stampin' Blends and popped them up with Dimensionals.
On the inside of the card I cut a strip of grass using the retiring Special Day Dies and adhered that across the bottom of my Basic White insert and stamped the sentiment from A Cut Above stamp in Olive Green ink.
Doesn't he look like he is in his happy place!?!

Now onto many more Birthday Cards by so many talented bloggers!!

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - July 2020 - Masculine Card

Welcome to the Stampin' Dreams July Blog Hop where the theme this month is a card for the men.

I am Ann Krucek, from Malvern, Ohio, and I am happy to share the masculine card I made with the Game On Stamp Set.

I thought of my boys (28 and 32) when I designed this card.  We all play cards when everyone is home, we laugh, we joke, we just have a good time around the table. My card is a bit of a no fuss card, no extra rhinestones or twine - just the way my guys would want it.

  • Starting with a  Basic Gray cardstock card base - I used a die from the Stitched Triangles  and made the cut out down the outside edge of the card by just laying it about 1/4" from the edge.
  • The Smoky Slate cardstock layer is 3 1/2"  X 5 1/4"
  • Then I used the backside of some beautiful Peony DSP that has what I think looks has little herringbone pattern to it for the next layer - it is 3" X 4 3/4"
  • I cut 4 Basic Black Triangles from the Stitched Triangle dies and adhered them to the corners of the DSP layer.
  • The playing cards are stamped in black ink on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut out and adhered with dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is stamped with black ink on Smoky Slate cardstock and cut with a die from the All Dressed Up  dies - I seem to use that one a lot for sentiments - sometime running it through twice to shorten it a bit - as was the case fro this card. This was put on with dimensionals as well.
  • I put a strip of black down the side of the inside edge of the card so that black would show through the cut outs going down the front of the card.
  • And added a piece of white for the inside sentiment.
Here are the supplies I used:

Kre8tors Blog Hop - June Masculine Card

Welcome to Corner of Plaid and Paisley, I am Ann Krucek from Malvern, Ohio, USA - where today I am taking part in the  Kre8tors June Blog Hop.  We are an international group focusing on sharing our creative Stampin' Up! ideas and projects. This month the theme is a Masculine Card.

I made two different cards using the Campology stamp set.
The first cards sets a camping scene on the outside,
and a little pop up action on the inside!

⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺

This masculine joy fold card has a fun little surprise inside!

When opening up the card you start to reveal more camping equipment,
Then fully open, reveals your camping nemesis!
I hope you enjoyed my cards - now on to more inspiration for masculine cards.
Rochelle is up next!

Roll Call List

Here are the supplies I used for each of today's cards:

For the joy fold card - I used the tiny buttons from the All Dressed Up Dies and two mini dimensionals to make my closure on the front.  I also cut a larger circle of Crumb Cake to stamp and color the tent and coffee pot on and placed it on top of the card base so that the color bleed of the Stampin' Blends did not show on the back side of the cardstock.

If you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - I would love to be your coach!  You can shop with me 24/7 here.  Ask me about becoming a Demonstrator!!

Way to Goat

Creating with this whimsy Stampin' Up! Way to Goat stamp set was so much fun!
They make me smile every time I look at these adorable goats.
I also used the Field of Flowers Bundle to create a happy environment for my goat!

I used sponge brayers with  Pear Pizzazz ink for the field and Balmy Blue ink for the sky.
The larger of the two sentiment pieces, I also used my brayer with Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped the Field of Flowers Grass and stems with Pear Pizzaz, stamped the flowers on a scrap of Whisper White with the new Magenta Madness ink and punched those out with the Confetti Flowers Border punch.  (This is part of the Field of Flowers Bundle) and adhered half the flowers with glue and the other half with dimensionals.

Both sentiment shapes were made with the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.
My goat was stamped on Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut out.  I highlighted some of the areas with the light Grey Granite Stampin Blends marker, and then stamped the grass over her hoofs and adhered her with dimensionals to make her pop out a bit.

🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

Then for a more masculine Way to Goat card I chose two of the new In Colors for 2020-2022, Cinnamon Cider and Misty Moonlight.

I knew I wanted to create some chomp marks on this card - so I looked for something small with some sort of jagged edges - and came up with a small flower die from the Budding Blooms Dies -  I think it makes a pretty nice bite mark!

Again - I stamped my darling goat on Whisper White Cardstock and fussy cut him out and gave it just a bit of shading with the light Grey Granite Stampin' Blends.

I had some more fun with the inside of this card as well!
Does that goat look guilty ?!?!

Imagine how much more fun you could have with this stamp set!!
