Come Sail Away Collection on the Corner

Welcome to my first Collection on the Corner!
Today I am featuring nautical themed cards using the Come Sail Away Memories and More pack.
When I work on my cards, I rarely make one at a time.  I always have so many ideas in my head that I tend to be all over the place working on several different cards at once with in the same stamp set or paper series.  So, I have decided to post a small collection of cards using the same the same theme to give you lots of ideas on how to use your Stampin' Up! products.
The Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack (you can click this link or find it on page 171 in your catalog) which is a fabulous pack of double sided cards, laser cuts and stickers with patterns and images all made to coordinate with the Come Sail Away Suite. Although you can make many great cards with this pack and some card stock!  I did use some extra's to embellish my cards and several of those things are not from the Come Sail Away Suite.  So take a look and see what you like here!

✰✰✰✰✰✰✰

This first one is my favorite with the ripped edges of the Sahara Sand cardstock that was run through the Corrugated Embossing Folder.
The ships wheel and Congrats is from the Sailing Home Bundle.  I used the Under the Sea Dies for the net looking piece that adds some more texture.

✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰

You Made My Day was one of the pre-printed cards in the Memories and More pack.
I cut the actual hexagon shape out of the preprinted card and raised that up with some dimensionals.
I ended up using the Arts and Crafts dies (the largest snap) for the two dark brown round washer type pieces - it was just the right size I was looking for  - then I used a small diameter paper punch to punch the hole in the middle to bring the braided linen through.

✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰

I liked the ripped edges so much in the first card - I decided to do it again with this one!
The two printed papers in the background as well as this lighthouse, plus the little compass sticker on the ships wheel are all from the Memories & More Pack.  I used White Stampin' Emboss Powder on the navy classic label for the  Happy Birthday sentiment (from At Home with You - now retired)

✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰

The "Ahoy There" spoke to me when I saw it one of the small preprinted cards - so I fussy cut it out and used it as the focal point on this card.
This is on a Black cardstock base, both of the striped papers where in the Memories & More pack. I stamped out the compass base and the two sailboats from the Sailing Home Bundle with black ink. I used a scrap of silver foil paper for the compass needle and an old (retired) black rhinestone. The two little tabs of Flax Ribbon just add a bit of texture to the card.

✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰

This last card was the most work but fun work!
I used watercolor paper and an aqua painter to lightly paint my sky and water.
I stamped the birds and light house  from the Sailing Home Bundle- so I did have to put a bit more effort into this one! Two of the background papers are from the Memories & More pack, but the small striped paper on the bottom is from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.

✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰✰

I hope you got some ideas from my cards.  I still have a lot more of the Memories & More Cards
left from the pack, I barely made a dent in it!!  Don't be afraid to cut them up and use the pieces and parts of each card. It also comes with some beautiful laser cut pieces that I didn't even use yet!
This pack is chalked full of goodies to use as you wish!

Over the Moon - Cow Card

I am udderly thrilled to share my card from the new Over the Moon stamp set.
These adorable cow images caught my eye right away when we received our new 2019-2020 catalog.
My card is:
9 1/2" X 4 1/4" Basic Black card stock - scored at 4"
3 3/4" X 3 3/4" - Cow prints stamped on Whisper White
3 1/4" X 3 3/4" Whisper White on inside of card for sentiment
2" X 3 3/4" Check DSP - for the right side
3 1/2" Scalloped oval - in Basic Black card stock
3 1/4" Stitched oval - in Whisper White with stamped image

I immediate thought we needed some cow print paper, then when I saw several people on Pinterest do this cow print paper I knew what I wanted to do with this stamp. I don't know who did it first to give credit, but they used the Love What You Do stamp set to make the black ink spots.
I just randomly stamped those two little ink blobs on Whisper White cardstock to make my own cow print paper.  Unfortunately the black check paper is retired DSP from the Botanical Butterfly DSP pack.   But you could easily make a black check with the Buffalo Check background stamp found on page 156, the check will be a bit larger.

I used Stampin' Blends to color in my cow and grass.
I placed the bow with a glue dot as I did - to help keep the card flap closed, tucking it under the bow tails.

I hope you enjoyed my version of Over the Moon!

#SimpleStamping Wedding Cards

As a Stampin' Up Demonstrator,  I have been presented with the #simplestamping challenge to come up with some cards using limited tools.

This month's challenge was to make a card for either a wedding, funeral or new baby using just paper, ink, stamps and a bonus material, ribbon.  So I looked through all the stamps I had to see what I could piece together to make some wedding cards and this is what I came up with:

I used the color pallet of Blushing Bride, Gray Granite and Whisper White for both of these cards.

The first card starts with a Gray Granite cardstock basic A2 card base.
Blushing Bride layer - 3 3/4" X 5"
Whisper white layer - 3 1/4" X 3 1/2"
I stamped the hearts from the Meant to Be stamp set with Blushing Bride ink, first stamping the floral heart on a scrap piece of paper and cutting out around it to use it as a mask, (tip- using a post it note is good for masking) I placed my scrap paper heart down where I was going to stamp the floral heart and then stamped the bigger heart over the scrap so that the outline of where the two hearts intersect is now on my scrap and not on my piece of Whisper White.  Then I stamped the floral heart so that it fit right into the outlined heart without a line going through it.

The Mr & Mrs is from the Piece of Cake stamp set and the
Wedding Wishes sentiment is from the Floral Phrases stamp set, both stamped in Gray Granite ink.
The white tule ribbon is tied around the Blushing Bride layer before it is adhered to the base of the card.  I love this ribbon, it is becoming one of my favorites!

💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

The second card uses the All Adorned Stamp set which is one of the Free Stamps  if you order $50 worth of product in the Sale-A-Bration offerings that is good only until March 31st
It is on a Whisper White A2 card base.
Gray Granite mat layer -  4 X 5 1/4"
Whisper White - Stamped Layer - 3 3/4" X 5"

A tip for stamping this card is to lay a piece of washy tape across the Whisper White layer you are stamping so that there is a  3 3/4" square at the top of the piece - this will help you place the corner stamp so that everything lines up evenly.
You want to watch the the edge of the stamp to make sure the little line crosses over the previously stamped image, stamping all 4 corners.

The three hearts across the bottom are from the Meant to Be stamp set, stamped in Blushing Bride ink. The Mr. & Mrs, from Piece of Cake stamp set, the little gray hearts, from the All Adorned Set and the sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, are all stamped in Gray Granite ink.

I tied the polka dot tulle ribbon around the white stamped layer before adhering it to the Gray Granite layer.

Although I did use a number of different stamp sets to make these cards - none of these sets were purchased with wedding cards in mind.  That is the nice thing about mixing and matching stamp sets, you can come up with a design for the intended purpose needed. So I encourage you to look through the sets you have and put something beautiful together!

Stampin' Up! So Happy Together Sale-a-bration Stamp

I have had more fun working with these darling frogs for the last few cards. They are from the  So Hoppy Together stamp set in the 2019 Sale-a-bration Catalog.
This is one out of several free stamp sets being offered during the sale.  Today I am going to give the details to the middle card - the Hooray card!

The base of the card is from a piece of Granny Apple card stock cut in half the long way to measure
4 1/4 X 11".  I took one of those long pieces and score it down the middle at 5 1/2", folded it in half and creased it good with my bone folder.
The striped piece of Sea Foam Designer Series Paper is from the 6"x6" pack of Subtles DSP, cut to 5" X 3 3/4".  I stamped the dotted section on the bottom of the striped piece with Granny Apple Ink using a stamp from the Petal Palette stamp twice so that I got a wider section of dots.

I used the new Well Written Framelits Dies and cut the word hooray out with my Big Shot once with each of three different cardstock colors, Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow. I adhered the words using Tombow liquid glue.  Then using my 2" circle punch, I punched the circle out.  Now comes the fun part.  I stamped the unicycle frog with Momento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White paper.  Tip: anytime I am going to color something right away,  I use the Momento black ink, it dries faster and smudges less than any other ink when you are coloring with alcohol markers such as Stampin' Up! Stampin' Blends. Then colored my frog with the light and dark set of Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.

🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸

You may hear the term "fussy cut" in card making, all that means is that it is cut out by hand - the old fashion way!  Since there are no dies for the frogs, I fussy cut my frogs.  On this card I cut the unicycle off and just used the frog.  Turning over the main striped piece of the front, that now has the circle cut and the words hooray on it - I placed Stampin' Dimensionals around the outer edges of the back. ( I used quite a few - I don't like my card to sag)  I also placed some around the circle cut out and used these dimensionals to adhere it the front of the card so that it pops out just a bit.  I used two Mini Stampin' Dimensionals on my frogs left eye and cut another one in half and used it on his left hand (which would be the eye and the hand on the right as you are looking at the frog!!) and liquid glue and the rest of my frog.  I placed him in the circle so that most of him is on the green back ground and yet his left hand is is just outside of the circle overlapping the striped paper slightly because of the half dimensional on his hand.
For the inside of the card I stamped one of the other cute frogs in the corner of a  5 1/4 " X 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I used the Well Said stamp set for the sentiment on the inside, stamping the word hooray and the frog in Granny Apple Green. ( Just make sure you have the sentiment going the right direction on the card stock since this card is going across instead of up and down like the majority of the cards we make - I of course stamped it wrong the first time!) Then I stamped the words for you and the bees in black and adhered it to the inside of the card.

The other two cards have some retired Designer Series Paper on them- but I thought you might enjoy just seeing some more ideas on how this cute stamp set can be used !
The Hip Hop Hooray sentiment used on this card is from the retired stamp set - Sweet Little Something.  The retired frog DSP is from the halloween Toil & Trouble DSP series.  The dotted banner piece is from the still current Tropical Escape 6"x 6"Designers Series Paper (146916)
The green and white dotted paper is from the retired Toil & Trouble DSP series.  The gingham check is from the new Gingham Gala 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper .  The ribbon is Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon, also still current.

I hope you enjoy these little frogs as much as I do!!
