It's that wonderful time of the year when all the farmer's markets are bursting with fresh picked fruits and vegetables.
I decided to set a table in honor of all the roadside vegetable stands out there!
We used to sell our vegetables at a stand at my grandmother's house. Since every weekend was spent hoeing, weeding and watering at our pretty expansive garden, we enjoyed when it was finally picking time.
The tablecloth is a long rectangular sized cloth, more to fit my indoor dinner table but I folded it over and matched up the stripes and it worked fine for my round outdoor table. You can see the fold in the photo above. I got such a great deal on this tablecloth and the four little bowls when I found them on clearance at Target. They are Hearth and Hand with Magnolia , so nice quality but I got them for a steal!!
Next, I headed to the farm market to get some fresh vegetables, the nice thing about using these as a centerpiece is that you can cook them up for a nice dinner when you are done. As a matter of fact - I cooked up some of the sweet corn after I was done - and it was delicious!! It was the best corn on the cob I have had in a while - I consider myself a bit of a corn snob since we grew many different varieties to find the best tasting - so this is high praise for this Ohio grown white corn.
My cabbage plates seemed appropriate for this table. I am going to try makings some Ramen noodle salad with that big head of cabbage on the tray.

Good morning Ann! Love your farmers market-themed table and veggie centerpiece! What a great combo your plaid H&H tablecloth and bowls are with the pop of orange from the stripe and bowl interiors. Your carrot napkins with watering napkin rings tie everything together perfectly, and your aqua potting bench makes such a cheery backdrop to your table! I was trying to read your cute signs…I can just make out ‘romaine calm’ π₯¬ Carrot cake is the perfect sweet ending and delicious way to eat your veggies! π₯Happy August π§‘
