Fall is time for Football! Fall Tablescape Hop

Fall is not only the celebration of a wonderful nature display in Ohio, but it is the season of Ohio's favorite sport - Football!!

I am participating in our  Welcome Fall Tablescape Blog Hop today!

There will be links to 17 other talented table stylists participating in the hop at the end of my post.  With all of this inspiration, it should get you in the mood to decorate for fall!

This time of year is always full of football around here.

The closest city to us is Canton, Ohio - Home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  We are in the hot bed of Friday night football.  Saturdays are spent cheering on our Buckeyes at Ohio State games. -  and Sundays, well, we are always hoping our Cleveland Browns will somehow pull off a miracle! (and it hasn't happened yet!! - but we still hope)

My placesetting is pretty simple, I started with leather like placemats (Kirklands), a light brown plate (Tag - bought a long time ago) , and wood flatware (Ikea purchased several years ago but I believe they still carry them).
The table runner and the football glassware are from Hobby Lobby. The glasses had a top to them that made them look like sippy cups but I removed the top and straw and just used them as mason jar type cups.

My little signs are made locally, I picked them up at a craft show last year.
I made the napkin rings from some football picks - pulled the wires out of them and adhered some old napkin rings I had.  The green napkins are 99 cent bandanas from Hobby Lobby.

The Ohio State University's mascot is our favorite nut - Brutus Buckeye.  No OSU tribute is complete with out some chocolate and peanut butter buckeyes!

Not only are the football teams in full swing, so are the marching bands!!  Since the games around here are big - so are many of the marching bands!  and if you haven't seen the Ohio State Marching Band perform yet - you are missing out - you can check out some of the best performances on YouTube!  They don't call it TBDBITL for nothing!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. Ann, you have nailed your fall football theme table. Go Buckeyes! The leather like placemats are a wonderful addition to your table. Great idea using the .99 cent bandanas and those cute football napkin rings. A wonderful tribute to your Buckeyes. I would immediately gravitate to those yummy chocolate and peanut butter buckeyes. Your table is so fun and creative Ann. Always a pleasure hopping with you.

  2. Ann, as an avid Alabama football fan (Roll Tide), I love your table celebrating the football season. All of your details are creative and fun. I would definitely be digging in to chocolate and peanut butter buckeyes. On a side note, my sister-in-love (married to my brother) is from Bradford Ohio and a graduate of Ohio State. My brother and daddy are the biggest Alabama fans that I know. When the two schools have met over the years, it has been interesting but always fun!

It is always a pleasure to blog hop with you. Happy Fall!

  4. Ann, our family loves college football season, and we would love sitting down at this adorable table and eating some yummy football food. Chocolate and peanut butter buckeyes would be a treat, I love the bright green color with all of the warm chocolate brown tones. It is perfect for a fall football party! Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors

  5. This is so cute! I love this idea: football season starts for the Crimson Tide this weekend: Roll Tide Roll! I might need to "borrow" your idea for a fun kitchen tablescape because one of my favorite things about fall is college football season. All the little Buckeye references are darling on your table. I know your family must love it! I'm giggling at the table runner and the napkin rings. They are too, too cute. Happy Fall!

  6. Ann, what an adorable table you have set for your upcoming football season! The table runner and football glasses are perfect and the bandana napkins and football napkin rings are so creative. I am eyeing those chocolate and peanut butter buckeyes - yum. I'm certain that any football fan- which sounds like most of the country lol - would be thrilled to have a seat at your table! It was a pleasure hopping with you today and wishing you a beautiful fall!

  7. What!! No mention of the Bengals?! I would have a great time watching their games at your fun table. No one here in GA has any idea what I'm talking about when I mention serving buckeyes. Thanks for sharing the inspiration!

  8. Super Cute Ann, I’m ready for football and tailgate season! 🏈 Love all your fun football details from the table runner, cute football mason jars, nd your Buckeye snack board, including the peanut butter buckeyes. We have friends that are diehard OSU fans and named their dog Brutus. 😊 As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you! Happy Almost Fall. πŸπŸ‚πŸ§‘

  10. The perfect football table!! The flatware is so unique and I have never noticed it when in Ikea (now I will keep my eyes open!). Clever napkin rings! Enjoy football season!

  11. Ann as an avid sports fan, I love your table and I forgive you for being an OSU fan. LOL I have to admit yet again, that I love my KC Chiefs, KC Royals and KU basketball teams. You will notice that I left out the KU football team....because sadly our Kansas football team has NOT been very successful for many years. I keep saying that we are rebuilding but how long can I keep saying that? I am going on 15 years now but won't give up hope. LOL...but I digress, your table is perfect. I love every aspect of it. Your DIY napkin rings, little signs and your scrumptious looking buckeyes certainly make me want to sit down at your table. Go Chiefs! Forever Royals! Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Enjoy the upcoming sports seasons.

  12. Football is in the air and on the table in your Fall table. Love the long wooden charcuterie board filled with goodies. The table runner football field is really fun and puts everyone in the mood for a good game. The wooden handled flatware works well with the theme. Time to cheer on the team!

  13. Wow Ann! It is football season! I do watch a lot of football, so I can certainly appreciate this festive and fun Fall football tablescape. I love your choice of colors that pop and the various patterns of stripes and football field turf. Your treats looks so scrumptious.I never had a buckeye, so they look so good to me. Tucking in Fall leaves certainly brings it all together. It is the best part of the Fall season. Have a great season.

  14. Lol, I had to look up that acronym. I bet there are a lot of us who make that claim! Love this tablescape, Ann. It's a perfect setup for a house united or divided, as the case may be. Whether it's OSU / Michigan (two nieces in the same family) or WVU / Marshall (as in the case of what may end up being a split personality daughter with undergrad / grad status with both schools here in WV), it's like the napkins say - I just want both teams to have fun! Love those glasses from HL, and the napkin rings you made are super thrifty and look super. Green bandanas make for a great field of color on the table. Very creative twist on welcoming fall, and thank you for bringing this theme to the table. Our TV is on all day and into the evening as I write this. Happy September!
ps....love me some buckeyes - the peanut butter kind. πŸ˜‰

  16. Ann, what a fun tablescape theme. Who does’t have their favorite college football team(s). At our house, we pull for 5 different teams. Plus the Cowboys. You came up with some cute elements - love the napkin rings!
