Taco Fiesta - Stamping Inkspiration Blog Hop Color Challenge

Welcome to Corner of Plaid and Paisley where I am taking part in Stamping INKspirations monthly Blog Hop with the fun Taco Fiesta Stamp Set!

Thank you to Angie McKenzie for putting these monthly hops together.
This month's theme is a color challenge.  We were to take the colors in the photo below and make a card using at least 3 of the colors.
When I laid out a piece of cardstock from all of these colors
So Saffron | Sweet Sorbet | Tahitian Tide | Orchid Oasis | Shaded Spruce
I thought it looked like a Cinco de Mayo party!!  So I immediately went to the Taco Fiesta stamp set.
To be honest with you- I made a couple of cards using this set - but when I looked on Pinterest there were already cards that looked similar to what I had made.  So I dug down deep for some creative spirit to make something a little different then from what was already out there.
My husband and I  are comedy fans - and occasionally refer to the Jalapeno on a Stick act that comedian Jeff Dunham does - So I thought I would make a card he would appreciate!!  Hence the talking jalapeno!!
I got out my Conversation Bubbles and picked out the "Hey There" sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set.  I made the "Hot Stuff" with the Alphabest Stamps on black card stock and white embossing powder.   I also used the Layering Squares Dies and the the Basic Borders Dies for the zig zag across the middle.  I colored my nacho chips with So Safron and peppers with Sweet Sorbet Stampin' Blends.

I have all 5 colors in there - my talking pepper has a Shaded Spruce stem that makes his little bangs!

This is so completely different from the last post I did!!!  That is what makes these challenges so fun - it forces you to step out of your box and do something you normally may not have done!

Now - let's see what everyone else has made!
If you are following along - Vickie Littlewood is next up!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.
