Shabby Chic and Boho Inspired Cards for OSAT February Blog Hop

Welcome to something very different from my usual cards.  I am sharing a Shabby Chic and a Boho inspired cards today!

I am participating in the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop where the theme this month is shabby chic and/or boho look.

Since we make two projects for this hop - I did one card of each.

I truly enjoyed making both of these cards.  If you know my style - I enjoy lots of layers - well these cards have that!!  So many so - they will not fit in a standard envelope.

Let's start first with my shabby chic card.

The focal point to this card is the Nested Friends Bundle and the Framed Florets Dies.

The  pink DSP is from the Sale-A-Bration Dainty Flowers and the tan dotted DSP is also Sale-A-Bration DSP from the Day at the Farm pack - Both are free- each with a $50 purchase until the end of February!  I distressed all of the edges with Soft Suede Ink.  I also stamped the top pink layer with a few stamps from the Ranaculus Romance stamp set.

I used just about every current leaf or sprig die out there for the floral flourish!!  Some are stamped, some are just die cut, and some are shaded a bit with Stampin' Blends.  The white crosshatch texture piece is cut from the Split Textures Dies.

The flowers on top are from the new Two-Tone Flora set.  I stamped them out, distressed them and then with snips - cut individual petals into each flower.  I curled back the edges of the leave with a pick tool.  The small flowers have two flowers for the layers and the big flower has two small and two medium flowers layered on top of each other.  Some White Crinkled Seam Binding is tied in a double bow and tucked up under the flowers.  Finally, I splattered the whole card with some Whisper White Ink.

Now on to my Boho look card!

Much simpler!!  Still several layers but not over the top like the shabby chic card!
I used the Macrame Embossing folder - which - My mistake - is now retired - for the white layer, but the Cane Weave Embossing folder would look nice!

I used two of the consecutive circle dies together to make the frame of my "wallhanging".  Bakers Twine is used for the jute fringe!  That was fun!!   I looped it around the circle frame and then untwisted it to make it a bit fuller- I took it to my ironing board to get it to lay a little flatter because it wanted to twist over to the side a bit.  After the fringe was on I cut a circle of the Split Texture die cut piece and adhered it to the back of my frame.

Most of the leaves and the die cut flowers are from the Queen Bee Dies.  The little flowers that look almost like stars are from the Dainty Delights Dies,  The other branch like thing is from the Potted Succulent dies.  Except for the bottom Soft Succulent layer of greenery - the rest were all washed watercolored on a piece of our Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya Ink then cut out.
The sentiment is from the Framed Florets stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed these cards!!  They were time consuming but I love the outcome.  It is fun to try something different and let the creative juices flow!!  I love mixing and matching all the dies from different sets to create something unusual.

I am excited to see what all of the other card makers have come up with!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.
