Blending Fall Colors - Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop

I am welcoming in fall today with the Season of Chic Bundle!

I am participating in the Stamping Inkspirations Blog hop where the theme this month is a technique theme and the topic is blending.

We have been challenged to use some sort of blending in our projects.  I am excited to see what everyone has done,  all of the links to the other creative card makers are at the end of this post.

I did two cards using my Blending Brushes,  The first is an easy and fast card done by masking off a section and blending Crushed Curry, Pale Papaya & Pumpkin Pie ink.
I used washy tape - ripped it down the middle lengthwise and taped it down to Very Vanilla Card stock, left a strip that I wanted color and taped down the other side of the washy tape so that I could blend my ink between the two pieces of washy tape.  I also used scrap paper on either side of the washy tape because I tend to be a messy blender and I wanted to keep the rest of the card clean!  You could also use the new Masking Paper on page 149 in the Annual Catalog.

I stamped the leaves with Early Expresso ink and then ran it though the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.  The sentiment is stamped with Early Expresso and fussy cut out and applied with Dimensionals. I finshed it off with a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive Dots that I colored with my Stampin' Blends so they would look dark brown .

The second card has lots of layers and die cuts!!
But this is what I love to do!
For the background I had cut out the large textured piece from the Chic Dies and used the cut out piece as a stencil.  I put that down on Very Vanilla Cardstock and started with my blending brushes over the top - I used a variety of colors - probably 5 or 6 different colors.  I also blended a bunch of different colors on another piece of Very Vanilla - it never looks especially beautiful until you start cutting out all of the little leaves from it!
What I like about cutting out all the little pieces is that you don't have to worry if you get one spot darker than you wanted to - that plays into the character of your leaves - especially because nature tends not to be so perfect!  I just kept adding layers of ink and layers of leaves until I liked the results!
I used a little piece of the Natural Finish Ribbon and frayed the edges to add even more texture to the bottom of my leaf pile!
So have fun with your blending - stick some teal in there if you want!

Now let's see what everyone else has done!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.
