Colonel Mustard, in the Dining Room with the Candlestick - Halloween Tablescape Hop

Halloween is fast approaching, do you have a clue for your costume this year, yet?

Well,  Clue just happens to be the theme of my Halloween Tablescape for Chloe Crabtree's fabulous Halloween Tablescape Blog Hop! I thought a little creepy murder mystery would fit the bill.

All of the links to the talented table stylist taking part in the hop will be listed at the bottom of this post.  Have a fun looking at these creative tables for so much more Halloween inspiration!

In the mean time we are going to have a little murder mystery fun with one of my favorite childhood games.

Do you remember trying to guess if it was Mr. Green with the Rope in the Conservatory?

Or perhaps Mrs. White in the Kitchen with the Knife!
I have had these blueprint plates for years, I bought them at Fishs Eddy in NYC when I used to travel to NY annually for the NYC Toy Fair.  Fishs Eddy was alway a must stop when we would get an evening off.  If you are ever in NYC - this is worth the trip if you are a dish lover.
They always reminded me of the Clue game board, maybe because I worked for a toy company and spent a lot of time in the toy department!! Anyway, I always thought it would be fun to do a Clue table with them.
Aren't the names Colonel Mustard and Miss Scarlet iconic!
and let's not forget Mrs. Peacock!!
Did she use the wrench or the revolver?

Below is the list of all of the wonderful blogs participating in today's blog hop,
Be sure to take a peak at the other tables, you would not want to miss out on any Halloween fun!

⁈⁈⁈⁈⁈⁈⁈⁈⁈

Have you come up with who did it?
There may be a little hint!
If you look closely,
Someone is being ratted out!!
I hope you enjoyed my little murder mystery table!
Have a fun and safe Halloween.

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. Oh em gee, this is SO dang creative and CUTE Ann!! I was struggling to come up with a different theme this year and your plates are fantastic and perfect for your spooky game of Clue and a Halloween table!! We played Clue for hours growing up, I wish I had our old board game. I love your centerpiece with the magnifying glass, knife and revolver and spooky hands too. Alas, I think it was Professor Plum in the conservatory with the candlestick. Happy hopping and Tuesday to you. ♥

  2. Ann this is the best!! Yes, I LOVE Clue (notice I used present tense of the verb. I'd be up for a game of that ANYtime). Absolutely brilliant display of your creative genius here, starting with the Fishs Eddy plates and coming up with so many of the elements from the game. Love the centerpiece and each and every character you played out. This is a keeper for young and old! Happy to joining you on this hop, so fun!

  4. Oh if I could just click my cast and heel together to take me back to Fish Eddy's (and NYC to see my eldest)! Those plates were made for your Clue theme! Even without them, your tablescape, centerpiece and place settings are BRILLIANT! Love the game of Clue, where I'd always bee Mrs. Peacock. At Halloween we always played Clue and Green Ghost in the dark. Pinned and pinned!

The plates are outstanding, and all the murder weapons and elements suggesting the characters are fabulous, love the pipe, hat and peacock! How did you make the game piece place cards, sooo perfect! 8. What a fun table Ann! I love the idea of a murder mystery and the game Clue certainly provided that. The characters are so famous. We played Clue while growing up and loved it. Those plates are perfect. Good call! Love the centerpiece with the magnifying glass, revolver and knife. The creepy hands are awesome. The ratted out is perfect. A pleasure joining you on this fun blog hop.

  11. Oh Ann....what fun! I loved to play the game, Clue. You captured the game and the intrigue beautifully! The centerpiece is a great match for the game, including the mysterious black hands and the weapons! Love the blueprint plates and all of the items representing the people who "dunnit". The board game makes a perfect table runner. After dinner, your guests can play the game! A really great idea!

  12. ANN!!! I LOVE THIS!! I used to love playing Clue! This is so fantastic, all of the place settings with the hints toward the individual players is spot on! I don't even know where to start because I LOVE it all!! I have been to Fishs Eddy, but wow, I didn't spot these little gems!! I hope you don't take it as copying, but as flattery, but I HAVE to do something similar in the future!
