Welcome to our Summer Tablescape Blog Hop! I am celebrating this summer with a fun ode to America's favorite pastime.
This baseball-themed table is my contribution to our Summer Tablescape Hop organised by our wonderful leader, Rita from Panolply.
We have 16 tables with a variety of summer themes for you to check out! All of the links are near the bottom of my post. I hope you can take some time to sit back and enjoy what my friends have created for some summer dining fun.

I chose the baseball theme because the sport has always been a favorite pastime for me; it goes way back to when I was a little girl, we used to go to Cleveland Indians games when they had bleacher seats for $2.
I have been busy attending my grandsons' T-ball and Baseball games, and following my favorite team, the Cleveland Guardians, so far this summer. We even attended a spring training game in Arizona this year, which has always been on my bucket list!
I set this table on a bright sunny morning; unfortunately, I did not account for all the shadows and reflections from the glass that would be cast upon the table and deck. They actually make the whole table look more crowded and busier than it did in person.
I started with the cute baseball tablecloth that I purchased from Amazon.
I chose faux-leather placemats to give it a baseball-glove kind of feel, and wooden-handled flatware for baseball bats.

n
For the All-American look, I used a red, white, and blue plate stack with a mix of checks, stripes, and stars!

And top it all off with a refreshing drink, although I like lots of ice, and my choice would be Diet Coke!
I used a striped napkin that kind of reminded me of pinstripe uniforms. When I saw these napkin rings at Target they hit the lacing on the baseball glove vibe for me!

I borrowed my grandson's bucket of practice balls for my centerpiece! He got them back the next day for a little practice session in the backyard.
Cracker Jack, sunflower seeds, and bubble gum are just a few more baseball staples.
Of course, the main course would be hot dogs!!
I hope you enjoyed my take on a fun summer table. My friends have been busy setting some beautiful summer tables as well. I hope you can gain some inspiration from them. Here are the links to all of the blog hop participants:

May you have many beautiful summer days filled with blue skies and lots of fun.

I adore this theme and all of your creativity related to baseball....You didn't miss a beat!! the tablecloth is fabulous, the napkin rings are quite clever and the bag of peanuts is genius! I remember when the Red Sox bleacher tickets were $2 - crazy prices now!
ReplyDeleteBaseball? You are talking my language. I have been going to baseball game since I was nine years old. I hate to tell you how many years that’s been. I am absolutely in love with this table. All of the detail is just perfect, and those napkin rings do appear to be part of an old catcher’s mitt. The backdrop is as pretty as the table. I have had to enlarge the pictures to catch all of the detail details. The glass bottles of Coca-Cola, the sunflower seeds, the peanuts, everything is spot on. I’ve never done a baseball theme table before, but now you’ve planted a seed.
ReplyDeleteAnn, I love the whimsical accents--like the peanuts at each place setting-- you have included in your creative baseball-themed table! Here's hoping your summer is as fun as this festive table!
ReplyDeleteAnn...I love baseball and watch every game my KC Royals Lose...uh I mean play. But that is ok, Moving to Florida did not mean I left my teams for someone new...Nope! I still follow the Royals in baseball, the KS Jayhawks in college basketball and the KC Chiefs in football..I am definitely not a fair weather fan as I am always on their bandwagon. I can remember many years ago, sitting in Kaufman Stadium (yes, was a season ticket holder for all my sports) and the Royals would be losing as I sat and ate peanuts with maybe 200 other fans. LOL. And yes, I have several tablescapes using baseballs. Your table is delightful and perfectly done. I love your deck...pretty view and good place for the grands to practice their craft. AND I don't think the photos make it look too crowded at all. Enjoy your wonderful upcoming summer. Are you ready for some more baseball? There are ONLY 162 games played each season you know. 🥰🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
ReplyDeleteAnn, what a fun patriotic table for summer. Love your clever details. The Coke ice chest server is a fabulous piece for your deck. The baseballs, the peanuts, and a bowl of Bazooka gum really sets a fun vibe. Love the handled tin. Do you have a source for it? I'd love to find one. Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteSarah, I purchased the handled tin at a Ragon House Warehouse sale. They are a wholesaler lactated by me in Ohio that sell to gift shops all over the country. I have seen some of their items on Wayfair. I hope that helps!
DeleteWhat a fun table! I love baseball, and this would be perfect in our backyard. You have so many clever details. The bazooka bubble gum gave me a giggle. The baseballs in a glass vase are remarkable. And it's all red, white, and blue. Fabulous! I am in love with your Coke ice chest too.
ReplyDeleteI found you again through the Blog Hop.
Happy Tuesday.
Ann, this is a great Americana themed table! I love, love, love all your references to the baseball elements - the leather placemat and napkin rings, the pinstripe napkins, the tablecloth and actual balls on the table, the flatware and all the food fare (Diet Coke if my vice too!). The plate stack is great too. We have a farm team here in Charleston, and my grown kids (and granddaughter), and several other family members love hanging out, especially for theme days at the park. A really well-done tablescape for our nation's favorite summer pastime! Thank you so much for such a well-thought and executed theme! I remember you talking about that Ragon House Warehouse sale, and it sounds awesome. Rumor has it we may be getting a HomeSense here, which will be another welcome local venue for tablescape elements. Thanks so much for joining in today's blog hop fun!
ReplyDeleteAnn, What a home run of a tablescape! ⚾ I loved your celebration of America’s favorite pastime and all the creative baseball-themed details woven throughout your table. The combination of patriotic touches and nostalgic baseball elements makes for such a fun and unique tribute to summer…your attention to detail always amazes me! Love the faux-leather placemats and napkin rings mimicking the baseball glove, cute baseball tablecloth, grandson’s practice balls and appropriately chosen ball park snacks! The stars & stripes bow is perfect for the peanuts and America’s favorite pastime. As always, it’s treat to join you at the table and hop with you! ❤️🤍💙
ReplyDeleteAnn, such a delightful tablescape. You thought of everything, right down to baseballs, bazooka gum, and peanuts. Love the napkins, such a great find. Even the tablecloth sings baseball. Darling plate stack. How fun to sit on your deck and enjoy the all American sport of baseball. Happy summer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great summer theme, Ann. It is definitely an American summer pastime and who doesn't love an evening at the baseball field. We used to go to the Baltimore Orioles' games when we lived in Maryland and now go to our local Single A games. I have to say they are quite fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteLove how you incorporated all the baseball items and the red, white and blue into your table setting. Loved the great plate stack. Have a wonderful summer.

Baseball is eternally linked with hot summer days and nights (spring training and the world series don't count lol). I liked to play it when I was young and enthusiastic, but I loved going to games more, whether college teams or the Reds. And you have captured those wonderful feelings with all the details you've included on your table. The patterned plates and bowls, the bold colors, the totally perfect accent pieces. Who knew you could still get Cracker Jacks! This will be fun to sit around all summer -- especially with those hot dogs! Such fun!
ReplyDeleteWell this post is making this baseball girlie VERY happy!!!! I love baseball. We go to Birmingham Barrons games, but I LOVE the Chicago Cubs. We usually go to Chicago once a season for a game. This year we will be going to the Green Monster in September and watch the Cubs play the Redsox. We're watching them play the Rockies right now! :D I will forgive you for being a Guardians fan since y'all are in the American League, LOL. OMGOODNESS you've given me so, so many ideas. THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteI love the peanuts in the cellophane bag, and your centerpiece, of course. The baseballs on the pillar candle holders is really cute, too. I love everything, really!
Happy summer!
Ann, you didn’t hit a triple but you knocked one out of the park with your table. I am a fan of baseball and all of your details are fabulous! Your creativity really shines on this table. I loved when our son played baseball, the games were so fun to watch! My sweet Daddy signed with the Cleveland Indians, but was soon drafted into the Army during the Korean War. I watched many baseball games with him through the years, he was always a Cardinal’s fan! I love how you combined a patriotic and baseball theme together so perfectly! It is always fun to join you at the table! Happy Summe!
ReplyDeletePam!! Wow! Your dad signed with the Cleveland Indians!!! How cool is that!! I am sure we would have had a winning team had he been able to play!! What wonderful memories to have❤️
DeleteWhat a great idea to combine baseball with a patriotic theme. The baseball tablecloth is so fun and I love all the patriotic colors and touches that you added in the dishware, glasses, and that darling little tub filled with cracker jacks and sunflower seeds. Throw in your hot dogs and its the best summer meal ever. The leather stitched napkins do mimic the stitching in a catcher's mitt and how clever is that?! Your view from the deck is lovely and the deck looks so sunny and inviting. Ann, I hope you have a wonderful summer and wishing you a very happy July 4th!
ReplyDeleteThat table's a big mess, looks like a rummage sale.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your wonderful deck décor Ann! That baseball tablecloth is the cutest! You are so creative! I totally get the baseball glove feel, and how nice of your grandson to lend you his baseballs! Your whole table is darling and your extra touches are just perfect. If we were scoring, I’d give you a 10!! Always lovely hopping with you – hope you have a great summer!
