Autumn Splendor Tablescape

I am ready for some crisp Autumn weather and the wonderful display of nature's color change - it is my favorite time of year!

We are celebrating the Fall Season with our tablescape group!

I revel in the changing colors we get here in Ohio this time of year.
Since I am going through a lot of changes in my life as well - I thought this was a good way to celebrate.

I am still at my daughter's house for a couple of more weeks, so this comes from her dining room.
I thought the black background on these fun autumn plates would look good on her black dining table.  I love the way the fall colors just pop off of them.

Just about everything on this table is from Hobby Lobby.  My stuff was packed up at the Lake House this past week and is in storage for 3 weeks until my new place is completed!  Boy those movers were shocked at how many dishes I was moving!!!! And much thanks to may wonderful girfriends, Linda T., Theresa, Amy, Cheryl and Jo who helped me pack over 100 boxes of dishes and decor - I could not have done it with out them.😘
I was able to hold out the flatware, candle sticks, napkin rings, placemats  and the wood plates from the boxes to use this week.
What is fall with out a good plaid?! I used the matching runner and napkins with wood napkin rings and some adorable wood mushrooms as accents.
Now it is time for you to sit back with a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the rest of the fall tables! Unless you started from the top and you ended with me!!  Then you will have to get on with your day!!

Hopefully the next time I come to you, I will be in my new home with at least some of my dishes unpacked and ready to go for Halloween!
I hope you have a wonderful fall full of cool evenings, crisp leaves among your feet, maybe a football game or a good book on the back porch with wearing your favorite sweater!  Enjoy!!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  3. Hi Ann, how nice you can stay at your daughter's house during this moving time, and wow, even do a tablescape! It is so fall perfect with the plaid runner, fall leaf garland, mushrooms, and pumpkins. The leaf mugs are great, and I love the black pumpkin plates. The wood chargers, napkin rings, and rattan placemats add wonderful texture! Good luck with your move~

  5. Ann, I admire your talent at the table for this welcoming fall! Girl, you did it! You got everything packed and STILL held out for the beauty of your new season starting! I am so proud of how you've taken things in your hands and pushed through it all. Your table is beautiful on that black tabletop. I love those dishes. I don't get to HL a lot, but you always seem to find the best of the best. Those napkin rings and mushrooms are adorable, and the black candlesticks make for a nice, dramatic pop on the runner. I'm mad for plaids anytime, any season. Like the birds on the mugs, I hope you have a new song in your heart. Thanks so much for continuing to be a part of this group. ❣️

  6. Good morning Ann, Autumn is my favorite time of year too and I’m beyond ready for sweater weather after a long hot and humid summer! I love your pretty plates, they’re stunning and really pop against your black table. I have the same fabric as your runner and napkins but in tablecloth form and love to use it for fall and Thanksgiving. How wonderful to have friends to pitch in and help pack your dishes. As a fellow dish hoarder, I can relate and had to chuckle at your comment about the movers and 100 boxes. I admire your ability to set a table with all your wares packed away, so glad you could join in the fun again. Wishing you the best of luck with your move and your fresh start! As always, it’s a treat to have a virtual seat at your table and hop with you. Happy almost fall! 🍂🍁🧡

  7. So nice that you can stay with your daughter, Ann, moving is not for the faint hearted. I loved the way you used your daughter's black table top as the background for your table setting. It worked perfectly with your black plates. the plaid runner is a great welcome Fall piece and works well with the textured placemats. After reading about your 100 boxes of dinnerware I pointed out to my husband that I was not the only one with a lot of dishes. LOL. Best of luck on the move.

  9. Black is a wonderful base for the vibrant leaves on the plates, and the pretty plaid runner and napkins are a soft accent for them. I love the cute wooden mushrooms and the way they echo the wood plates. I lingered on the garland and the various textures woven through it. Very pretty!
