Dainty Flowers - Sale-aBration Time!

Welcome to Sale-aBration time with Stampin' Up! here at Corner of Plaid and Paisley!  This is the best time of year to make purchases because of all the wonderful free items you can get with each $50 or $100 purchase!!  Today I am highlighting the beautiful Dainty Flowers 12" x 12" DSP that is Free with a $50 purchase.

I adore the soft pallet and watercolor look to this paper.  It can be found on page 6 of the Sale-aBration catalog or by clicking here!

Using some of the dies and stamps I had on hand (some new, some old and a few retired)
and this pack of paper I was able to create many beautiful cards. Here are three that I have not seen done yet on Pinterest.

The easiest card was made from the beautiful oval wreath of flowers - there are 6 of these wreaths on one sheet and you get 2 sheets of this paper in the pack - so right there - are and easy 12 cards! plus there are two long flourishes down the middle of the paper to use for even more cards.  I cut out the middle of one of the wreaths using the Geraniums Dies, however you don't have to cut out the middle or you can use the retired Oval Dies to cut out the middle.  There are three layers of Pear Pizzaz Cardstock here, the base, a mat layer that was textured - I used my all time absolute favorite embossing folder Tasteful Textile which happens to be on the CLEARANCE RACK for only $5.40! Then a small rectangle layer in the middle that I stamped the sentiment on.  I also cut the photo corners with the Fabulous Frames dies (often over looked from the Annual Catalog on page 171) from Pear Pizzaz cardstock.  The sentiment is from the new Jan. - April Mini Catalog. (you can click and browse all you want on the icon in the right hand column or down below if you are on a phone!) The stamp set is called Something Fancy and it has sentiments for several different occasions. This card is a nice card if you want to crank out a few at a time.

This horizontal card uses the Fabulous Frames Dies again.  I also used the Tailor Made Tags dies to cut out the three flowers in the center - I ran the pieces through the smallest tag die - then flipped the die over and ran it through again to cut off the top tag part so the I just had a nice little stitched rectangle that fit nicely in the frame.  The three flowers are cut from the same sheet of DSP that the back ground is from.  I used Rich Razzleberry cardstock for the mat layer and the frame piece.  I ran a piece of Basic White cardstock through the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing folder and rubbed just a tiny bit of Rich Razzleberry ink over the top of the raised letters - not much - just to give a hint of the color here and there.  The sentiment is from the new Country Bouquet stamp set in the Jan-April Catalog.  I think the twine I used to tie a little bow was from an old Paper Pumpkin Kit.

I really like to mix up my stamps and dies to create different cards.  I know this can be a bit frustrating when you have limited funds.   But look in your stash and see if you have something close to what I used if you like the look of the card. There is no harm is using what you have and making it work!

I saved my favorite for last!  I love the water color side of this DSP!!  So I used that as my background and just cut out one of the many pretty flower with the Fabulous Frames Die, Cut the oval with Old Olive cardstock.  Although I hate to say - the ribbon is retired - but I just couldn't help myself - as soon as I saw this paper I dug through my ribbon and found a half of spoon!!! Yay!  It looks so good with this paper.
The sentiment is from the SaleABration offerings - called  Beautiful Happy.  It is on page 13 of the Sale -a Bration Catalog and is FREE with a $100 purchase!!

I hope my cards give you some ideas on how you can put some beautiful cards together using this fabulous DSP!!  Remember the best thing is- any purchase over $50 and this paper is FREE!!
