Evergreen and Gold Classic Christmas Tablescape

 Welcome to my Christmas Table!

I am so excited to be here with all of my talented tablescaping sisters!  Rita from Panoply has put together another fabulous table hop just in time to give you lots of inspiration for your Christmas celebrations.

All of the links will be at the bottom of my post, be sure to check out all of the wonderful tables involved!

I chose to do a classic evergreen and gold theme with a nativity scene as the centerpiece.
Our house is nestled between 3 huge evergreens on one side and 4 big evergreens on the other side - it is one of the things that drew me to this house.  I love greenery!!  Can you tell???

I wanted to do a table based on more of a traditional Christmas including the reason why we celebrate this season, the birth of Christ.   When I found this small rustic wood nativity scene that has the slightest bit of gold leafing to it - it was the inspiration to go along with all of the evergreen I wanted to use.
I used my spring green striped runner down the middle of the table - it may have supposed to be a spring item - but it works well for me with the evergreens.
🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
These thick green taper candles have a bit of a gold sparkle to them as well as the white metal Christmas trees with some gold leafing, they all add a bit of elegance to the otherwise rustic centerpiece.
I chose a simple placesetting of cream color dishes on top of  - what else ??- more greenery with the placemat!!
I placed a small wreath in each bowl and an assortment of gold glass ornaments with an old world look inside the wreath.  Adorning each ornament is a velum tag stamped in green with  -Oh, come let us adore him - from one of my favorite Christmas Stamp Sets from Stampin' Up! - For Unto Us.  This stamp set has many of the more traditional Christmas phrases getting back to the true meaning of Christmas.

It is finished off each ornament with a pretty ribbon of natural color and gold flex - Stampin' Up's  Fine Art Ribbon - by tying a bow with nice long tails.

I used my simple gold rimmed stemware - just enough to add some simple elegance.
The green stripe napkins are complimentary to the table runner - just the opposite stripe pattern, same colors - these were from Kirklands in the spring time - but lucky for me they still carry them because I needed two more!  Some rustic looking cone shaped bells worked for my napkin rings. I almost wished my old Value City gold flatware had tarnished a little!!   It would have toned it down just a bit to go with the rest of the old world look.

I hope you enjoyed my table!

  1. Good Morning Ann! I love your peaceful and serene table with evergreens, white dinnerware and gold ornaments. Your simple nativiy centerpiece is the reason for the season! I always look forward to seeing how you incorporate your Stampin’ Up offerings. Your mantel and backdrop ties in beautifully (as usual!) to coordinate with your table. 6. Ann, the nativity at the center of your table is perfect as Christ is the center of Christmas and the reason we celebrate. I am a big fan of fresh evergreens and they look so beautiful on your table. The bowls filled with a small wreath and gold ornament are stunning with your stamped velum tag! I always enjoy seeing how your mantel perfectly coordinates with your table. Wishing you a Merry and Joyous Christmas season!

  7. Ann, I'm really loving up on this table. The amount of greens used in the runner, and tucked down the center of the table, plus nestled in each bowl is wonderful. But most of all is the nativity at the center of it all. That is what Christmas is all about :)
    Merry Christmas hugs,
    RR

  8. Ann, this is a lovely use of greenery, almost looks like a scene in a forest! The gold is enchanting accent, adding elegance to the table. I envy you your evergreen trees - our cypresses were decimated by a rust virus and had to be removed two years ago. I miss them...
    Merry Christmas

  10. I love the simplicity of the green and gold, Ann. It's a rustic-refined vibe with the shiny flatware and rustic nativity, and same holds true with the use of the green & white textiles against the glass stems trimmed in gold and bauble ornaments. Those candles are nice! I am pleased that you're among the group who love to bring table styling to our readers. I always enjoy your style! Merry Christmas season to you and yours! (ps, my blog is spelled Panoply) ;)

  13. Ann —so serene, elegant and beautiful. Love all the evergreens. Most of all, I was so moved by your use of the Nativity for the centerpiece. Looking at all the details, I heard the lyrics from Silent Night in my head, and felt a sense of calm and peacefulness. You knocked it out of the park my dear. Wishing you and yours a most blessed holiday season.

  14. Ann, your elegant and rich table has great meaning. You have beautifully styled your table. I love all the evergreen and the beautiful velum tags inscribed with "Come Let Us Adore Him." Elegant simplicity is the best. Your coordinating mantle ties it all in. This is a special post. Pinning.

  15. Ann, your table captures all that the season is about. The simple nativity scene makes the absolute most perfect centrepiece. The use of the evergreens throughout the table is perfect. Although I went with a white tablescape this year, there is no lack of greens in garlands and boughs all over the house! The little vellum ribbons attached to the ornaments make the perfect topper to the simple ivory dishes. What a wonderful take-home gift they would make!! Wishing you the very best of the season.

  16. Hi, Ann! "O, come let us adore Him." One of my favorite lines from a Christmas song. I remember singing it with pure abandon as a little kid in the Catholic church. Sister Rita cut a look at me one day like, "Little girl, you are NOT on stage with backup singers. Dial it back."🤨

This is a beautiful and graceful and very reverently executed tablescape. It gives praise to Him while delighting the secular eye. I REALLY love the place settings!!!!!!

Beautifully done! Merry Christmas to you and your whole family as you continue to give praise to and adore Him in this season and beyond.
