On To Adventure!

Welcome to my 2nd addition of Collection at the Corner!
This collection is featuring the On to Adventure stamp set.
I love these quirky little people!!
Maybe because the stamp set kind of covers several of my interest, I have just started taking Yoga!
While I am old and have never been flexible in my life - it has helped me with balance and strength. So these next two cards bid homage to my Yoga instructor and good friend, Kim!
I used the Make a Difference stamp set to spell out Namaste, this set is not the easiest to work with but I found that with a little practice you begin to figure out how to line the letters up.  At first it is a bit intimidating, but it did get easier as I worked with it.
I doubled up two of the square shaped stitched dies to cut the Gorgeous Grape frame.
The greenery and the flowers are cut with the Bouquet Bunch Dies.   Sorry to say that the ribbon I used on this one was from the Saleabration Catalog and is now retired.

This one is pretty basic - just thought the three ladies lined up were cute enough with out a bunch of other stuff.
Namaste is cut out with the new Hand-Lettered Prose Dies, I am finding these to be a staple now, just like the stitched rectangles and shapes dies- I use those over and over again.

Another interest of mine is golf, I golf 2 or three times a week.  But let me preface that with - on a small (short) course that is only three doors down from my house!  I am far from being pro!!
But I do know a lot of golfers and knew that this stamp would be well used.
The first time I saw the back of that beautiful Perennial Essence Paper, I thought of grass - I know it is hard to use the back side of that beautiful paper - but how many times do you end up with paper you haven't used?  Don't be afraid to use it!! Think of it as the masculine side of the paper!
I added some more grass to the bottom using the new Wiggly Bugs Dies, just layering a bit of here and there of Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock.
I added stripes to the golf shirt  - I colored it first with the Stampin' Blends, then used the Stamp and Write marker for the stripes and collar.
The sentiment is from the Best Catch stamp set.  I used a punch that is from the Christmas Traditions Punch Box- This is on the Clearance Rack right now for $18.00 - well worth it- the stamps that come with it are fabulous.  I used these for a lot of my Christmas cards.
Unfortunately the only embellishments I had on hand for the corners of the sentiment are retired - but they could be easily swapped out for others.

Now, who doesn't love a good vacation?!?!
We met some wonderful people on our last vacation and want to stay in touch with them,  I thought this would be the perfect card!

I loved coloring these two!!  I striped her dress using light and dark  Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends. The sky was fun to do - I only own the Dark Balmy Blue right now - so that was all done with just the one marker - love the different shading you can do with these markers.
The stripe Designer Series paper is from the Bird Ballad DSP pack, this is another example of how some might hesitate to cut up the pretty birds on the other side, but I see me using this side more, it is so fun and versatile
The coral polka dot is no longer in the Subtle DSP pack, but there are other designs that will work well.
The sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral, punched with the Classic Label Punch.  The twine I used is from the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit. ( which will be my next Collection at the Corner!)

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.
