Patriotic Tablescape

Welcome to my red, white and blue tablescape for the 4th of July!
I put this table together for the wonderful Chloe Crabtree of Celebrate and Decorate's Patriotic Tablescape Blog Hop that starts today!!!
There will be 4 or 5 new patriotic tables each day, all week long.  These wonderful table stylists will  give you all the inspiration you need for celebrating Independence Day this summer!
Please join us by checking out all of the links at the end of this post.  They will be updated daily, so you will want to check back each day for more fun.

There are a lot of plaids and stripes in this one!
I blame Target for that!!!
I went into Target for some birthday gifts for my little grandson who was celebrating his third birthday this week.  I am not sure how it happened, but I came out with a whole bag full of red, white and blue stuff!!
It started with that darn dollar spot and those cute little stars and stripes bowls.
and of course the plaid pennant banner and plaid crock.
Then the problem grew when I got over to the Magnolia Home section and found these striped plates,  compounded by the fact that there were matching napkins!!
I had the sparklers, flags, and candles but decided to make some tags for the bundle.  I used two new Stampin' Up! sets for these tags - Praiseworthy Prose for the definition of celebrate and  Family Party - for the 4th and the stars.  The stripes on this tag and the napkin rings were made with Incredible Like You.

I have a love/hate relationship with fireworks!  I love all that they stand for and cry at every parade when the American Flag goes by  - but I have a sensitivity to the bright flashes of light in a fireworks show.  I have found that if I wear sunglasses while the fireworks are going off it helps.  Yep, I am that strange lady wearing her sunglasses at night so I can watch fireworks!!

Which one will be your favorite???
We have had a tremendous amount of rain so far this summer, I feel like I should be building an ark.
So hopefully it will clear out for our big 4th of July Celebration here at our little lake.
We have a lot of company for that whole week, so all of these red, white and blue purchases will be used over and over as we entertain.

Have a fun and safe celebration!!!
Wear your sunscreen and in my case, your sunglasses!!

Enjoy!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. Ann, that is one fun and fabulous explosion of red and white blue on your table! I always love pattern play, and yours is always sharp-looking! ♫♪"I wear my sunglasses at night..."♪♫ nothing wrong with that!

  2. You are so lucky to have Target! They didn’t last long here in Canada, and I miss that darn dollar spot! I love your festive table. The little bundle with the flag and candles on each plate are a nice touch. And, that table throw is the perfect back drop to the gorgeous plate stacks and fireworks centrepiece. I too have a love-hate relationship with fireworks, but for me it is because it scares the animals, which is enough for me to take a pass!

  3. Ann, add me to the list of love/hate fireworks.....I like watching the night displays on television or out my front door, but don't like all the crowds, parking, etc. I do not like the fire crackers that go off for 3 days before, during, and after the holiday. My little Jesse James quivers with fear. Having said that, I love your tablescape and all the red, white and blue. I don't think one can ever have too much when it comes to decorating for this holiday. LOL...and the "explosion" of colors and items on your table make me want to pull up a chair and sit and chat with you. Happy 4th to you and your family.

  5. Your table is a celebration of red white and blue Ann, it looks like an explosion of fireworks itself! I LOVE all the cute things you found at Target, especially the fabulous napkins! So many clever details, like the red licorice in the glass, so Americana! The tags you made are adorable! Great way to start our hop!!

  6. Ann, I love it all!!! The crazy mix of pattern is fantastic and you really pulled it all together by making it all red, white and blue! I haven't been in Target for a few weeks, and I am obviously missing out. The plate stack is so cute and incorporates all of those fun patterns! I love the wicker raised piece to gather some of your elements for the centerpiece! Thank you for sharing your talents with us again!!

  7. Ann, I know exactly what you mean about the Target Dollar Spot. It's addictive. My Target is 3 ~ 5 minutes away, depending on the light. Can be a good thing ~ or a bad!! I think I saw the same stars on blue ramekin on your table that I bought. Love all your layering of patterns and colors. It's so fun and festive. The fireworks on the table are so cute.

  9. Ann, I always look forward to your tables! I blame the Dollar Spot at Target for my ‘snowball’ buying too. ;) I admired those star and stripes bowls when I was there a few weeks ago. You have a wonderful collection of stars, stripes and plaids to celebrate the red, white and blue! Your Stamping Up! tags add such a special touch to your place settings. As always, it’s a treat to blog hop with you. ♥

  11. Ann, I am in love with the festive spirit you captured in your 4th of July table decor! I feel like I have missed some good stuff at the Target dollar spot! Ours is always so picked over. I think some people know when it will be restocked and are standing there waiting to snatch up all the good stuff!
Love the mantle in the background creating such a fun room.
