Nesting, Early Spring Tablescape

Welcome to my Early Spring Tablescape!
Since things have not really started turning green here - I am having a hard time going in that direction just yet.  We are still in the grey stages up here in the north.
There seems to be a lot of nesting going on.
We are seeing the birds coming back and busying themselves with the important task of making new homes.
I am normally a very symmetrical person, so this table seems a bit wonky to me.
Not only did I offset the placemats, I also offset the plates to fit my napkin on the side.
It is hard enough for me to let the fact go, that I only have two utensils on the left and three on the right.  This is like living dangerously for me!!
I just love these sort of woven wood nests, you should have seen me jump for joy when I saw that they weren't as expensive as I thought they were going to be, so I bit the bullet and bought one for each place setting.
I hope your getting your nest all ready for a wonderful spring!

Thanks for stopping by!
Ann

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  2. So glad you were able to live on the wild side and have a bit of asymmetry on your table because it all looks fantastic! I really like the offset placemat/plate look and how you laid everything out. Those nests are terrific! You have such a great collection of cloth napkins especially plaid ones! The colour palette for your table definitely captures the feeling of early spring.

  3. This is the cutest tablescape ever! I love the subdued colors, and you are killing me with those nests! I would love to have some of those. I had to chuckle about your comments on symmetry. I pretty much feel the same, offsetting a plate like that just would not do for me. But, we all do what we can where lovely tables are concerned.

  4. It's pretty gray around here also and I've yet to see a robin. Your table however, is a beautiful and filled with inspiration. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story, and I hope your week is going great.

  6. I love the nesting theme and those are really cute nests! It’s very gray here too but I’m fighting it and going ahead with spring colors. I don’t think the birds are nesting here just yet but it all changes quickly!

  7. Love your table and the use of blue and browns. It is gorgeous and I like your dishes slightly off center. Where did you find your nests?

  8. I think your table perfectly captures the feel of being on the brink of spring. I love all the nests, especially the ones peeking out from the bird house. The flower arrangement (are they grape hyacinths?) adds the perfect touch.

  12. Lovely! This color pallet is wonderful. One of my favorite Easter tables from years past was done in browns and greens. This makes me think of it and want to repeat it again.
