Summer Birds, Bees and Butterflies Tablescape

We are nearing the end of summer.  It is a clear sign when the grass starts to burn out and my dog starts to turn a funny shade of pink!  Poor dog!  She has allergies to the grass when it is just starting to turn brown.  We have had so much rain this summer that the grass has been greener longer than usual.

Oops!  I've already gone off on a tangent and I am just introducing my post!!  Summer!  With birds and bees and butterflies!
I must have changed this table up 5 or six times - it started out with much more off white in it - looking a little more summery.  But I didn't really like it!
I liked the darker rattan chargers with these plates, it seemed to make the colors pop off a little more than the off white.
My little birds have all left their nests, and even though they say there is a shortage of bees this year, we  seem to have our share around here.
I have also noticed many more butterflies this year than I have in past years.

I had bought these turquoise and yellow dinner plates months before and not even thinking about them when  I purchased the bee plates.  Then as I was digging through my cabinet, I realized that they were a good combination together.
And of course with a name that includes Plaid and Paisley, you just had to know that I would mix my paisley napkins with my checked napkins!
and if you look real close you will notice that the end place settings do not have the paisley napkins- apparently I only bought 4 - either that or I can't find the other 4.
I will have to go back to some of my previous posts to see if I ever had more than 4!

They also don't have any flatware - I know I only bought service for 4 because that was just a couple of weeks ago!  I will hopefully add another set on my next trip to Ikea. So if you are stopping over for dinner -be sure not to sit at the head of the table - you won't get any utensils or the cute napkin combo!

I hope your summer is going well,  and that you are not bothered by allergies like my poor dog!
Thanks for stopping by!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  14. You know I am going to say I love those plates! The bees are the best. The blue and white tablecloth combined with the blue and yellow is simply lovely. Love the blue birds and the eggs under the cloche. The whole setting is summer perfect. I am using an aqua pitcher today for my sunflowers on the breakfast table. I hope to find a yellow one like yours soon. Just love that color.
