Perfect time for Lemonade!

With all of this incredibly hot weather we have been having, I thought it was the perfect time to do a Lemonade Theme Tablescape.
I borrowed my daughter's beverage dispenser just for this occasion- Thanks Allie!

This all started when I found these Living Quarters yellow plaid dishes at Elder Beerman's - which is also known as Bon Ton in many areas.  I admired them a while back, but too expensive for me at the time.  As fate would have it, I found them marked down with a coupon for additional off and they only had six left.

I topped the yellow plates with some Martha Stewart black and white plates (I bought a while back on clearance) and my black and white polka dot plates.  I found the yellow ramekins at Marshall's last week.

I made the sign off of something I saw on Pinterest using a Dollar Tree silver tray ( yes, $1) and making it into a chalkboard.  I have seen several different versions of this, but I just taped off the edges with painters tape and sprayed  the center area with several coats of Chalkboard paint, (I got my can at Home Depot, but you can buy it at just about any craft store now too.) I used a white paint marker instead of chalk to write my words.

"Don't you think daisies are the friendliest flower?"

Do you recognize that line from Kathleen Kelly in You've Got Mail?  When Joe Fox brings Kathleen some daisies, it is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time! (that and Benny and the Jets from 27 Dresses!)

Since putting together this tablescape I have decided to give back a little by having a Lemonade Stand Party for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. I will be inviting some friends over for desserts and lemonade, hopefully they will be kind enough to make a donation to benefit this good cause!   You can read more about it @ Ann's Lemonade Stand via Alex's Lemonade Stand

I will be busy making lemon desserts and several different kinds of lemonade for this party, so
Watch for more lemony goodness coming as I get ready for July 19th!
Thanks for stopping by!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  4. Yes, we were on the same wave length with our yellow and black this week. Your stack of dishes is perfect with the black placemats, then yellow and white, then black and white dishes. Your dollar find for the chalk board project is way cute. Thanks.
