Enchanted St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

Welcome to my magical little corner where we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day today in my

Enchanted Leprechaun Grove!!

I am joining a fabulous group of ladies led by Debbee of Debbee's Buzz, for a fun St. Patrick's Day Tablescape Hop.  All of the links and sneak peek photos are at the end of this post.

I love how St. Patrick's Day is such a fun celebration even for those who are not Irish and just want to pretend to be for the day!
I know there are plenty of glittery shamrocks in the stores, but I prefer to use more natural looking items to celebrate the beautiful Irish countryside.  It all started with these soft cotton weaved placemats I found at HomeGoods several months ago.
On my next trip into HomeGoods I scored these fabulous clover plates by Grace's Teaware.  Keeping with the natural look, I used my burlap chargers and simple basket weave dinner plate to show off the pretty salad plates.  I pulled out my green striped napkins that are two sided with a pretty green floral on the other side.  Simple wood napkin rings that match my casual wood flatware from Ikea and some green stemware that I have had for years finish off the placesetting.
I wanted to build a leprechaun hide out for my centerpiece so when I found these natural looking mushrooms at a garden center I thought they would work.  But boy these things are heavy!!  If anyone breaks into the house I could knock them out with a mushroom!

I combined those incredibly heavy mushrooms with lots of moss, twigs and a little bark on top of my large round cutting board to make a my Leprechaun haven and added my fun little gnome who is all ready to celebrate!

I made a little favor box to hold some Andes Mints.  Stampin' Up! had had some burlap paper that is now retired, but luckily I still had one sheet left which was just enough to make these four little boxes.  I added some little green stitched triangles from the Stitched Triangle Dies to the corners and a little shamrock made from a flower punch to embellish the burlap box to match the occasion!
I hope you enjoyed my Enchanted Leprechaun Grove!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. Good Morning Ann, I love the soft natural tone your table designed as Enchanted Leprechaun Grove! Your Grace's Teaware shamrock plates are so dainty and pretty with their scalloped edges. I had to chuckle at “if anyone breaks into the house I could knock them out with a mushroom” Love your cute leprechaun gnome and favor boxes your created for Andes Mints. As always it’s a treat to hop with you and join you at the table. Happy Thursday! ☘️☘️☘️

  3. Ann I look forward to the favors you make for your guests and these are adorable as are the shamrock plates. I believe I have some of them deep in my stash somewhere. I really do need to get a bit more organized with my "collection" of "stuff". LOL Your setting is indeed rustic and natural and a delight. Always fun to "hop" with you. A good way to take our minds off the war happening in Europe and particularly Ukraine. They need our prayers.Kari @ Me and My Captain

  9. Oh Ann, what a wonderful St. Patrick's Day theme table. Here I thought it was "just" going to be that adorable leprechaun centerpiece, not an entire tablescape! He really is a darling figure and looks perfectly at home with the mushrooms and moss. Got a giggle out of using the mushrooms in defense, lol! The place settings and cute DIY favors (you are the queen of favors!) are lovely. I'm absolutely green with envy over those shamrock plates! Crossing my fingers and toes they have some at my HG. Lucky me to have you join the hop again this year!

  10. Ann, your natural tones with the green are a delightful approach, and those darling shamrock plates were a great find. I've not been shopping in Home Goods in ages, but I've often found treasures there in the past. Some of my favorite black and white plates are Grace's Teaware found at Home Goods! Your favors are always a fun treat. Clever idea to fill them with Andes mints. Yum!

  13. Ann, I adore your tablescapes, consistently. Your HG finds of the placemats and those darling plates especially make me wish I had made a trip out to mine! Combined with the gnome scene and burlap accents, you've done a great job of representing the countryside of Ireland. That's a look I love. And the knowledge of the mushroom weapons is priceless. 😜 It's always a treat visiting and participating in hops with you. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  14. Haha Ann I shouldn't laugh, but the mental image of you knocking out an intruder with a heavy mushroom is hysterical! Thanks for the extra laugh in my day! :) I love your table too, and I'm really impressed with your little gift packets - that could be a whole tutorial by itself. Also love your two-sided napkins. SO much inspiration here! I'm glad to be sharing this hop with you. Hope you have a great St Patrick's Day!

  15. I love this table! The rustic touches are fantastic and the juxtaposition with the dainty shamrock plates is everything! 🤩 I recently took a trip to HG and didn't spy anything like those plates otherwise I would have snatched them up! I have a love affair with mushrooms (don't ask) and the fact that they have a dual purpose is a bonus. 😉😅 Happy early St. Patrick's Day. XO- MaryJo

  16. Ann, your Leprechaun gnome looks so cute in his woodland haven! Those concrete mushrooms were a great find. I giggled at the thought of you knocking out an intruder with one! The place settings look so inviting and festive. I love how you kept the color scheme to natural hues of brown, green and white. As always, your handmade Stampin' Up favor boxes are the perfect finishing touch. It's always fun to hop with you. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
